Before all the rivers of the world meet

2025, photography with an hourglass

Do all the rivers in the world eventually meet?

This photo series was taken in the Marne-la-Vallée area, in the eastern part of Paris where I currently live. Here, some tributaries of the Marne River also face the threat of drying out during the summer. Zhuangzi said, "One cannot talk to a summer insect about ice. Perhaps some of them are already close to drying up before they ever converge.

I hope to document the rivers close to me, and to echo those distant river paths across the world that neither they nor I may ever reach.
